Zine Exhibit at VCU Libraries’ Special Collections & Archives

International Zine Month is almost over. Not that it will stop us from celebrating and making zines all year round.  VCU Libraries’ Special Collections & Archives (4th Floor of James Branch Cabell Library, 901 Park Avenue) has a two exhibits showcasing zines from their young collection.  The exhibit will be open for viewing Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. through the first week of August.  One case displays a small, random selection of zines from the collection, and the other highlights the zines from local artist and zine-maker Oura Sananikone, such as his zine Doodoo Bug (c. 2009).  Oura, who has tabled at Richmond Zine Fest in the past, created the image for our flyer pictured above and is currently designing the poster for this year’s fest–to be held on October 8th, 2011 at the GCCR.
